Everton and West Ham were linked with a summer move for Shinji Kagawa.
Italian outlet CalcioMercato have reported that Shinji Kagawa will be allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund in either January or next summer, and that should alert Premier League sides West Ham United and Everton.
Back in April, German outlet Fussballeck reported that 29-year-old playmaker Kagawa was interesting both Premier League sides ahead of a potential summer move.
The same report claimed that either side would be able to land the former Manchester United star for just £11.5million, despite the Japan international having a contract with the Bundesliga side until the summer of 2020.
Kagawa has been afforded just four appearances in all competitions this season, with Dortmund giving preference to the likes of Marco Reus, Jadon Sancho and Christian Pulisic.
Dortmund currently sit at the top of the Bundesliga after an excellent start to the season, winning seven and drawing three of their 10 league games. They have also began superbly in the Champions League, beating Monaco, Brugge and Atletico Madrid – the latter resulting in a huge 4-0 win.
No way back for Kagawa it seems, then, and his new availability could tempt Everton and West Ham into reigniting their reported summer interest in bringing the pocket-sized magician back to the Premier League.
