Linked to Newcastle, but Eriksen’s prolific pal Jorgensen could be perfect for Tottenham

Tottenham should consider Newcastle target Nicolai Jorgensen.

The unbelievable success of Harry Kane has saved Tottenham from criticism regarding the under performance of strikers they have signed in recent seasons.

Roberto Soldado and Vincent Janssen both flopped, and Fernando Llorente is so far faring no better.

So it would be sensible for Tottenham to continue looking at the transfer market, and one sensible solution would be Christian Eriksen’s international teammate Nicolai Jorgensen.

Jorgensen led Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title last season scoring 25 goals and already has nine this campaign.

He is attracting interest from Newcastle United who SkySports report have seen an initial offer rejected, noting that £20 million could convince the Dutch side to sell.

Spurs could on one hand be sceptical of the Dutch market after Vincent Janssen’s failure, but this did not put them off moving for Ajax’s Davinson Sanchez in the summer.

Jorgensen’s international link up with Eriksen would be the key to success at Spurs, and help him succeed where previous alternatives to Harry Kane have failed.

A move now would be smart ahead of the World Cup, where Jorgensen’s price tag could rise to a level which is unrealistic for Tottenham to pay, rather than the very reasonable £20 million in today’s market.
