Rangers attacker Martyn Waghorn has commented on his future at the club.
Rangers forward Martyn Waghorn has told The Scottish Sun that his future lies with the Gers after speculation surrounding a possibly January exit from Ibrox.
The Gers made it three league wins in a row on Friday evening, as they beat Hamilton Academical 2-1 at New Douglas Park, with Waghorn scoring twice before Dougie Imrie pulled a goal back for the hosts.
Rangers boss Mark Warburton will be happy with another win, and particularly as Waghorn hit the goal trail again after a a disappointing start to the season for the former Sunderland forward.
Rangers’ Martyn Waghorn celebrates scoring
Waghorn, 25, hit 28 goals in just 36 games last season as Rangers won promotion to the Scottish Premiership, but his goals on Friday were his first league strikes since scoring against Hamilton on the opening day of the season in August.
In something of an underwhelming season for the ex-Leicester forward, speculation has surrounded Waghorn’s future, with The Scottish Sun recently reporting that Bristol City and Fulham are both keen on taking Waghorn back to England in January.

Add in that Waghorn snubbed a new contract with the club over the summer (The Guardian), and his spell out of the team, and many believed that the forward would be leaving Ibrox in the new year.
However, his two goals against Hamilton have served as a reminder of what Waghorn can do, and the man himself has clarified his future after his two-goal salvo.
Waghorn told The Scottish Sun that neither he or the club are in any rush to agree a new contract, and whilst contract talks are being shelved for now, he’s ‘more than happy’ at Ibrox.
“It’s just been one of those things that I haven’t agreed a new contract,” said Waghorn. “I’m more than happy. I’m in no rush and neither is the club. It wasn’t left nastily or harshly, it was just put on the back-burner.”
“Early on in the season the performances weren’t great and I wasn’t justifying a new contract. We agreed to pick it up later,” he added.
