West Ham United’s Jesse Lingard has finally revealed the secret of his celebration after scoring against Tottenham Hotspur last month on MOTDX.
West Ham beat Tottenham 2-1 in February, with Lingard scoring their second goal of the game on that occasion.
After hitting the back of the net, Lingard, Declan Rice and Pablo Fornals decided to come up with a fairly creative celebration.
The trio all formed a band, with Rice on drums and Lingard on the flute.
And Lingard has now shared how the whole idea behind the celebration came about.
“Right, so first of all, Pablo Fornals [came up with it],” he said.
“In training we were doing a shooting drill and every time he scored he was doing the flute. So I would joke and join in with him.
“Then I scored and I was running off and I heard Dec going ‘let’s do the band, let’s do the band, let’s do the band!’. So Dec was there and Pablo was there and we were busting it out!”

The celebration was just one moment which has helped endear Lingard to the West Ham support.
The 28-year-old has quickly become a fans’ favourite at the London Stadium, with his performances seriously impressive.
Lingard has now worked his way back into the England set-up, and he played 90 minutes in the Three Lions’ 5-0 win over San Marino last night.
