Dharmesh Sheth has said on Sky Sports News (5:05pm, August 30, 2021) that Manchester United are happy for Jesse Lingard to stay, but things could change if West Ham United make an offer.
The Sky Sports reporter has said live on air that he has been told that Premier League giants United are fine with the England international attacking midfielder staying at Old Trafford.
However, if an offer comes for the 28-year-old, who can also play as a winger and spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, then United will look into it.
Sheth said on Sky Sports News (5:05pm, August 30, 2021): “I am told today that Manchester United are happy for Jesse Lingard to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his first-team place.”
The Sky Sports reporter added: “As it stands, Jesse Lingard stays, but if in the next few hours, there is an offer to Manchester United, then it will be discussed with Jesse Lingard and a collective decision will be made.”

Could Jesse Lingard join West Ham?
The Times reported earlier this month that West Ham are interested in signing Lingard.
The Hammers are keen on a permanent deal, but the London club are not willing to pay the £25 million that the Red Devils want.
Now, United are under no financial pressure to sell players.

After all, United are one of the biggest clubs in the world.
It seems that the Red Devils do not actively want to sell Lingard, so any transfer depends on the player and West Ham.
If West Ham are desperate for the England international, then they have to simply come up a suitable offer.
With Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho joining United this summer, Lingard will know that he will find it hard to play regularly this season.
