James Maddison was linked with Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, and he showed for Leicester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League today why.

Sky Sports reported on August 19 that Newcastle had two bids for Leicester midfielder Maddison turned down in the summer transfer window.

On August 5, 90min reported that Tottenham were keen on bringing the England international attacking midfielder to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

No move materialised, and the 25-year-old attacking midfielder is still at Leicester.

Maddison was in action for Leicester against Tottenham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

And he scored.

It was a truly world-class and very skilful goal from Maddison in the 41st minute.

And former Tottenham and Leicester striker Lineker was impressed.

The BBC Match of the Day presenter is baffled that Maddison is not part of the latest England squad.

Leicester are not doing too well at the moment, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham or Newcastle make bids for Maddison in the January transfer window.

The Englishman has been the best player for the Foxes so far this season.
