Lineker reacts after hearing England are planning to start Tottenham striker Kane tomorrow

Gary Lineker has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane should be allowed to decide whether he plays for England tomorrow.

The Guardian say that Tottenham’s Kane will be selected by Gareth Southgate, much to Jose Mourinho’s disappointment.

Spurs don’t want Kane to play, as they feel England are taking a big risk on his fitness.

But Southgate is eager to get his side’s captain back in the starting line-up.

And Lineker thinks that both club and country should simply leave the decision in Kane’s hands, over whether he starts tomorrow against Denmark.

Tottenham’s caution over their star striker is understandable, as he has been in such fine form for them this season.

Kane already has three Premier League goals to his name and he has also claimed six assists.

If Kane does make it through the England game unscathed, then he could be part of an attacking trio with Gareth Bale and Heung-Min Son for Spurs at the weekend against West Ham United.
