Gary Lineker has urged Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho on Twitter to give Gareth Bale a run of games.

The Tottenham legend made the comments while watching Bale in action against Manchester City this evening.

The Wales international winger, signed on loan from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, did not start the match, but he came on as a substitute in the 72nd minute.

The 31-year-old showed some good footwork and went close to scoring for Spurs just minutes after coming on.

Lineker also gave his take on the brilliant pass from Ederson for Ilkay Gundogan, while former Manchester City forward Rodney Marsh criticised Hugo Lloris for not keeping out the second goal.

Run of games for Gareth Bale?

Bale has not been in great form for Spurs this season and is struggling to play regularly for Mourinho’s side.

The Madrid-owned winger could do with a run of games to get back to his best. The winger showed in his cameo against City what he is capable of.

According to WhoScored, the winger took two shots and one was on target, had a pass accuracy of 37.5%, took 18 touches, attempted four dribbles, and made two tackles and one interception.
