Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to comment on Aston Villa’s 4-1 defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup last night.
As you may know, it was not a normal affair at Villa Park on Friday.
Dean Smith, along with the first-team, were nowhere to be seen as COVID-19 swept through the squad, forcing the closure of their Bodymoor Heath training ground.
Instead of forfeiting, Under-23 coach Mark Delaney oversaw proceedings, with Villa playing their academy prospects against the Premier League champions.

Jurgen Klopp was in no mood to go easy on the youngsters, as he started Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane along with other world-class stars.
You can see what Lineker thought of the fresh-faced Villa side’s display below.
Additionally, the BBC Match of the Day pundit suggested that the Villans might’ve set an FA Cup record.
What for? Well, as Lineker tweeted, Villa’s average shirt number last night was 55.3.
That is extremely high, and the former Barcelona striker thinks it ‘must’ be a new FA Cup record.
It remains to be seen if that is a new FA Cup record or not.

However, one thing that is for certain is the fact that Villa’s youngsters did themselves proud.
There is absolutely no shame in losing 4-1 to Liverpool – even Crystal Palace, playing their first XI, lost 7-0 to the Reds recently.
