There would have been a huge sigh of relief on Merseyside on Sunday as Liverpool secured Champions League football on the final day of the 2020/21 campaign.
Linda Henry, the wife of under-fire owner John W Henry, reacted on Instagram to Liverpool’s efforts.
In the comments section, L.Henry was responding to several supporters comments regarding the season.
From praising the club’s mascot for their work during this time, including during the pandemic, explaining why she hasn’t been posting about Liverpool and even responding to an angry fan.
Given what has happened with the Liverpool owners over the last few months, this particular fan wanted the owners to get ‘away’ added with colourful language to which she just responded ‘cheers’.
This is a big summer for Liverpool and all eyes will be on how they back Jurgen Klopp after an injury-hit campaign and attempts to enter the European Super League.
Whilst the relationship of other owners and their supporters – Arsenal and Manchester United – may well remain broken, this could be fixed, so Klopp has to be backed in a strong manner.
It’s not a case of wholesale changes are needed because a certain duo in Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez will be back and raring to go next term.

But more quality in depth is needed and Klopp deserves more backing for the job he has done at the club.
As strange as it sounds, even though Liverpool have achieved more under the German, this does feel like one of his better achievements given where they were heading only a few months ago when they were sitting seventh and losing six home games on the bounce.
