Liverpool linked Kalidou Koulibaly could be on his way out of Napoli this summer, former Anfield defender Andrea Dossena has predicted in conversation with Goal.
When the Serie A campaign is deemed safe to return, Gennaro Gattuso’s side have a lot to do if they are to secure their place in the Champions League for 2020/21.
Despite a recent turnaround in form under the former AC Milan boss, Napoli are still sixth in the table and nine points adrift of fourth-placed Atalanta.
And it almost goes without saying that arguably the best defender on planet earth will be desperate to play his football on the biggest stage of all while he is at the peak of his powers.
A move to Premier League leaders and 2019 continental champions Liverpool, then, will be more tempting than ever unless Napoli can somehow overhaul Atalanta and sneak into the top four in Serie A before the season is out (Le10 Sport).

“To get nine points back from Atalanta is a mammoth challenge so should Napoli not clinch a Champions League berth. They should sell some players,” said Dossena, a left-back who scored famous goals for Liverpool against Real Madrid and Manchester United..
“The two most valued are Fabian Ruiz and Koulibaly; the latter is the most likely to leave. Physical and speedy, he is one of the best central defenders in the world and can have his say in the Premier League.”
Dossena adds that Koulibaly, with his fearsome blend of pace, power and superb reading of the game, could be the final piece in a ‘stratospheric’ Liverpool squad.
The £90 million-rated Senegal international, he adds, is capable of forging a central defensive partnership the likes of which we have never seen before alongside Virgil van Dijk.
