Speaking to TeamTalk, Graeme Bailey has been discussing some of the potential outgoings at Leeds United.
For the longest time, the Whites had a small squad under Marcelo Bielsa, but after a busy summer of incomings and promotions from within the youth setup the team is looking bloated in some areas.
The midfield is one area where Leeds aren’t lacking bodies.
Marc Roca and Tyler Adams came in during the summer window, while Sam Greenwood is now playing a more prominent role under Jesse Marsch.
That means that midfield departures are potentially on the horizon, and according to Bailey, Mateusz Klich is one player who is likely to leave in the winter transfer window.

Bailey described Klich as a player who is likely to leave in January.
“Mateusz Klich is a likely January departure – he is clearly down the pecking order at Leeds and that has cost him his place in Poland’s World Cup squad, that is going to hurt. I really don’t see him hanging around at Elland Road too much longer.”
Fallen down the pecking order
For quite some time, Mateusz Klich as the first name on the Leeds United teamsheet.
In fact, the Poland international holds the record for the most consecutive appearances for an outfield player for Leeds – breaking Gordon Strachan’s record of 81 consecutive games back in 2020.
However, since Leeds’ promotion, Klich’s role has been less and less prominent. He’s not started a single league game this season, and that lack of action has cost him a place at the World Cup.
It feels like it’s the right time for Klich to move on and find regular football elsewhere, but after playing a key role under Marcelo Bielsa and breaking a club record, Klich will be leaving with a solid legacy at Leeds.
