Sky Sports journalist Paul Gilmour has said on Twitter that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be handed a 3-0 defeat to Rennes in the Europa Conference League following the latest announcement from UEFA on the cancelled Spurs game.
UEFA have released a statement this morning saying that the postponed match between Spurs and Rennes will not be played.
The Europa Conference League was due to be played this past Thursday evening at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, the match was cancelled due to a Covid outbreak in the Tottenham camp.
As relayed by Football.London this morning, UEFA have released a statement in which they say that the outcome of the match between Spurs and Rennes will be decided by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body.
Spurs and Rennes have been unable to find a viable solution to reschedule the game.
Sky Sports’ Tottenham reporter Gilmour has said on Twitter that a 3-0 win for Rennes is now likely.
You can see Gilmour’s reasoning below.

No big loss for Tottenham and Antonio Conte
As things stand, Tottenham are third in Europa Conference League Group G with seven points from five matches.
Rennes are top with 11 points from five games, and Vitesse are second with 10 points from six games.
So, a 3-0 win for Rennes would knock Spurs out of the UEFA competition.
In our opinion, that would be good news for Spurs fans and manager Antonio Conte.
It would allow Conte to concentre on the Premier League.
Anyway, the Europa Conference League is not a particularly prestigious or lucrative competition.
