Some West Ham United supporters are reacting to Ross Barkley’s performance for Aston Villa on Sunday.
West Ham were one of the clubs linked with a move for Barkley, before the Chelsea midfielder joined Aston Villa loan in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a positive start to his Villa Park spell, scoring two goals and assisting another in seven appearances.

It was his volleyed cross that laid on the first of Ollie Watkins’ two goals in Villa’s 3-0 win at Arsenal on Sunday.
And, despite their own team’s good run of form, the following West Ham fans are ruing their failure to bring Barkley to the London Stadium earlier this year.
Aston Villa’s latest win moved Dean Smith’s side to fifth in the Premier League – four points and six places above West Ham.
Were Villa’s game in hand to be played right now and result in a victory for the Birmingham outfit, they would leapfrog Leicester City at the top of the table.
It is barely three months since both Aston Villa and West Ham narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship.
