Gary Neville has stated Andy Robertson’s recovery from losing the ball when Liverpool were winning 3-0 against Manchester United was ‘absolutely outstanding’, as he told Sky Sports Premier League.

The Old Trafford legend added that Liverpool’s left-footed flyer sprinted back ‘like you wouldn’t believe’, as they went on to add a fourth during their demolition job at Anfield.

After Robertson tried to gallop forward with the ball, he lost possession on the edge of Man United’s box, before sprinting back like a man possessed to lunge into a tackle like it was a match-saving opportunity.

It perhaps summed up the evening for Liverpool and Man United as a whole, as the Reds have now put nine goals past their old rivals this season.

Nonetheless, this is how Neville reacted whilst on commentary duty, as he watched Robertson sprint back after losing the ball.

“The recovery from Robertson there is absolutely outstanding,” said Neville. “Talk about a player who has just given the ball away. About 50-60 yards away.

“At 3-0 up. He sprints back like you wouldn’t believe.”

As soon as Liverpool opened the scoring inside the first five minutes through Luis Diaz, it seemed as though the Man United players wanted to go home.

The gulf in quality between the two is quite staggering and if those Man United players really wanted to try and stop their rivals from winning multiple trophies, then they hardly showed any signs of it.

As toothless and weak as Man United are, Liverpool are equally as ruthless, aggressive and just full of quality.

The Reds are sitting top of the Premier League table, ahead of Man City’s home clash against Brighton on Wednesday night, with Everton awaiting Jurgen Klopp and his players on Sunday.
