Sheffield United supporters were full of praise for Jesse Lingard on Monday night after he helped West Ham record a comfortable 3-0 win at the London Stadium.
Only a couple of months ago, Lingard was struggling to get minutes at Manchester United, but now the on-loan West Ham playmaker is sitting four points behind his boyhood club.
It would be something if Lingard does guide those in East London to the Champions League places, and if he continues his current form, then there’s no reason as to why they shouldn’t get into Europe, at the very least.
Whilst the West Ham supporters are clearly liking what they are seeing from their January capture, the opposition fans are also seeing his talents.
A selection of Sheffield United supporters are annoyed that they didn’t sign Lingard last month because Chris Wilder’s men, who are sitting bottom of the pile, could have done with his talents, and a lot more!
Lingard was his typical old self yesterday, as he made intelligent runs off the ball, looked to make something happen at every moment and ensured that Michail Antonio wasn’t missed.
It’s proving to be a shrewd piece of business by those at the London Stadium, which isn’t said that often, but there’s no doubt that Moyes has played a big part in that.
