Tony Cascarino told talkSPORT (17/07/21 at 7:50 am) that he was left stunned by how little Leeds paid for Jack Harrison.
The former striker questioned whether Manchester City put a clause in Harrison’s contract, like when they sold Jadon Sancho to Dortmund, which potentially boosts the £11 million (BBC Sport) Leeds paid for his talents.
Harrison had spent the last three seasons on loan at Elland Road, which including earning promotion, so it was obvious he was going to end up in the colours of the Yorkshire giants on a permanent basis.
With Manchester City seemingly trying to raise money to seemingly buy the likes of Harry Kane this summer, Cascarino shared his thoughts on one of the names sold to Leeds.
“I don’t get how Jack Harrison has been sold for as small a fee as £13 million to Leeds,” said Cascarino.
“He has played so well for Leeds last season. I just felt, is that all? He’s 23-years-old. He has a really promising future.
“Maybe Man City have something in the clauses of add-ons if he achieves something. Or if he gets sold on. Like Sancho, they get a pay-back.
“But I thought that was such a low fee.”

When Harrison first arrived at Leeds, in the Championship, he was someone who lacked the confidence, consistency and cutting edge in the final third.
Leeds ended up suffering play-off heartache in his first loan spell at the club, but then he transformed the following season.
Harrison was much more dangerous, consistent and precise in the final third, which helped Leeds earn promotion back to the promised land.
And that step up to the Premier League also saw the Englishman raise his game once more and help Marcelo Bielsa’s side to a top ten finish.
