Speaking on Soccer AM’s YouTube channel, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has claimed that Sadio Mane is the strongest player in the Liverpool squad.

The Reds have some physically imposing players in their side such as Fabinho, James Milner and Virgil van Dijk, but Oxlade-Chamberlain thinks Mane is stronger than any of those.

Fortunately, Oxlade-Chamberlain resisted the temptation to pick himself, but he would have been a very worthy candidate.

Mane is a very strong player, but the fact that he’s not that big physically makes this something of a surprising answer.

“Who would you boys say is the strongest player in the squad,” The midfielder was asked.

The Ox was very quick to say that Mane is the strongest in the team, even going as far as to claim he’s the strongest man ever.

“Sadio is the strongest man ever, like what does he weigh? Probably only 70 something KG, but it is like hitting a train.”

This is very interesting to hear.

We would’ve been quite certain that van Dijk was the strongest player in the Liverpool squad, but Oxlade-Chamberlain believes that it is Mane.

The Senegalese winger isn’t the biggest, but he does have a lot of power and he’s almost impossible to knock off the ball at times.

Mane is one of the best wingers in the world, and his strength is certainly a contributing factor to that.
