Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the club’s decision on Luis Longstaff.

As announced on Liverpool’s official website, Longstaff has signed a new contract with the Premier League club.

The 19-year-old will stay at Anfield until at least 2022, as stated on the Reds’ official website.

The teenager joined Liverpool in 2015 after leaving Newcastle United and made his first-team debut for the Merseyside outfit in December 2019.

The youngster is a versatile player who can operate as a winger, as a central midfielder or as a centre-forward.

Longstaff is very good on set-pieces as well, and some Liverpool fans are pleased that the Reds have extended his contract.

Below are some of the best comments on Twitter.

One for the future

Longstaff is a very talented young player, and he is one for the future and has the quality to succeed.

Given the former Newcastle prospect’s versatility to play in different positions, he will be an asset for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in the coming years.

For now, the 19-year-old needs to work hard and make the most of the chances he gets for the Liverpool first team.
