The Bolton Wanderers misfit is back in action on a regular basis at Forest.
When Nottingham Forest snapped up Liam Trotter on loan for a month it was not a deal that inspired the Forest faithful of better things to come. They signed the player from Dougie Freedman’s former team Bolton Wanderers. The Trotters re struggling at the foot of the table and Trotter cannot buy a game there so his signing certainly surprised many at the City Ground.
But he has made a good impression since joining the club. He scored on his debut and his good form saw his deal at the club extended this week.
Speaking about the extension the midfielder had this to say to the Bolton News, and he was clearly pleased with sticking around in the East Midlands:
“I’m really happy to have extended the loan.
“When I came I was just looking to play a few games and see where that took me.
“The fact that the manager and the club saw fit to extend it is a bonus and I’m delighted.”
Trotter’s performances have been decent so far in his four appearances for the club and will be hoping to keep that up.
He does not seem to have much of a future with Bolton and he will be hoping to push on and impress at Forest enough to earn himself a potential permanent switch to the club in January.
