Pundit Liam Rosenior has told Sky Sports’ EFL Goals (15/12/2018, 8pm) that he thinks few players could replicate Pablo Hernandez’s assist in Leeds United’s 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers.

The Whites travelled to the Macron Stadium on Saturday afternoon in search of a fifth straight victory – and got exactly what they wanted.

It wasn’t exactly pretty, but they did claim the win as Leeds brought on striker Patrick Bamford after a three month absence, and he made an impact within minutes as he scored the winning goal.

A smart pass from Hernandez released Bamford for the win, and with Norwich City only drawing 2-2 at Bristol City, Leeds are now top of the Championship table.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are on a fine run, and will be looking to keep up their fine run when they head to Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

After the game, pundit Rosenior gave his verdict on the Whites, and suggested that there are few players who would be able to replicate the assist Hernandez gave for Bamford, claiming it was ‘top class’.

Rosenior added his excitement about the imminent return of injured playmaker Izzy Brown, having missed the whole season, with Rosenior feeling that he is a ‘top young player’ after working with him at Brighton last season.

“Brilliant for Leeds,” said Rosenior. “They are winning games in numerous different ways, they can grind it out like they did at Sheffield United and here today. I don’t know how many players have the quality and ability that Pablo Hernandez does, to find this little ball through Jack Hobbs’ legs and into the path of Bamford. It’s top class.”

“We know how good Kemar Roofe has been in the first part of the season, but for any team to get promoted, you need to have that strong squad, now to have Patrick Bamford come back fit and they’ve also signed Izzy Brown, who is coming back to fitness – a top young player I was lucky to play with at Brighton – they have got players coming back and they’re going to be a force for the rest of the season,” he added.
