Chelsea’s January business might not stop with Jeremy Jacquet, as the club continues to be linked with multiple additions this window.

While nothing is finalised yet, talks between the Frenchman and the club have reportedly progressed well.

It has been suggested that personal terms between Jacquet and Chelsea are already in place, leaving the two clubs to agree on a transfer fee.

While a new centre-back remains the club’s main priority, recent reports indicate that a striker may also be signed – specifically one with whom Liam Rosenior is familiar.

During his time at Strasbourg, Rosenior worked with Emanuel Emegha, who is currently expected to join Chelsea in the summer.

However, according to TEAMtalk, the British manager has spoken to the club about the possibility of accelerating that move and bringing him in this month.

Joao Pedro has been leading the line for Chelsea this season and found the net again in their 2-0 win over Brentford on Saturday.

Liam Delap replaced Pedro in the 74th minute and later won a penalty that Cole Palmer converted.

If all three strikers remain with the squad, Rosenior will have an interesting challenge on his hands when it comes to managing playing time between Delap, Pedro and Emegha.

Emanuel Emegha January transfer would be the final straw for Strasbourg fans

Strasbourg supporters were already upset about Liam Rosenior’s mid-season move to Chelsea and the sale of Emegha was another point of frustration, as it clearly was not well received.

If Emegha leaves before the end of January, it will only add to the anger that has been building all season. Many Strasbourg fans already feel BlueCo have gone too far after taking Rosenior earlier this month.
