Liam Rosenior claims reported Wolves target Che Adams produced ‘the best centre-forward performance’ this season

Che Adams was a reported target for Wolves in January and he recently hit a hat-trick for Birmingham City against QPR in the Championship.

Sky Sports pundit Liam Rosenior has raved about Birmingham City striker Che Adams by claiming that he will get to ’30 goals quite comfortably’ this season following his display against QPR on Saturday.

Garry Monk’s side recorded a 4-3 win over the London club, with Adams hitting a hat-trick at Loftus Road – the away team were winning 4-0 at one stage as opposition striker Nakhi Wells missed a last-minute penalty.

Nonetheless, in January, the Mirror claimed that Premier League side Wolves were one of 12 clubs interested in the 22-year-old’s signature.

Former defender Rosenior praised Adams for showing ‘great character’ despite the speculation about his future last month, which could have resulted in him going ‘the other way’.

“His performance [Adams] was probably the best centre-forward performance I have seen from anyone all season,” Rosenior told EFL Championship Goals on Sky Sports Football on 09/02/2019. “Everything he is touching at this moment is turning to gold.

“There is more to his game than just goals. His movement, his speed of play, his movement in behind, he makes great runs and links up play fantastically.

“When a player doesn’t get the [transfer] move that he wants sometimes he can go the other way. But he has shown great character to keep going the way he has been going. He’ll get to 30 goals quite comfortably.”

The Championship is the highest level Adams has played at in his career so far after he came through the youth academy at Sheffield United as a youngster.

Over the course of this season, he has played 33 league games, scoring 19 goals and supplying four assists for his teammates showcasing his brute strength in the final third.

There is no doubt that if Adams continues in his goalscoring ways then there will be more clubs knocking on Birmingham’s door in the summer.

Nonetheless, Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has showcased during his time at Molineux that he is willing to give youngsters the chance to shine, whether it be bringing them in via the transfer market or the club’s academy.
