Celtic wanted Reading’s Liam Moore.

Celtic came up short in their pursuit of Reading centre-back Liam Moore in January, with Jaap Stam flat out rejecting their approach.
The Scottish Sun had reported Moore was Brendan Rodgers’ top target.
Celtic moved for a stop-gap defender, veteran Marvin Compper, and prospect Regan Hendry. 25-year-old Moore would still be an excellent addition.
The situation at Reading has changed since Celtic’s interest was first reported.

Manager Jaap Stam was fired by the Royals earlier in 2018, perhaps damaging their chances of keeping Moore.
Stam was the manager who signed Moore for Reading, and fought so hard to bat off Celtic’s advances.
Reading sit down in 19th in the Championship, with Paul Clement replacing Stam.
Moore had one of the best games of his career at the weekend, helping the Royals keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Preston.
Moore was man-of-the-match, and won an incredible 21 aerial duels in the victory.
His performance saw him awarded a rare 10/10 by Opta powered website WhoScored
This summer is a big one for the former Leicester City defender, and Reading will be hoping he will buy into their plans to move forward under Clement.
Celtic making another approach would throw a spanner in the works, and this summer they may stand a better chance of landing him than they did in January.
