Summer signing Liam McCarron made his first appearance for Leeds United on Wednesday night.

A number of Leeds fans have responded to Liam McCarron on Twitter after the 18-year-old took to social media to express his delight at making his first appearance for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in their first pre-season friendly of the summer.
Leeds kicked off their preparations for the new season in some style, with the Championship side beating York City 5-0. Jack Harrison bagged an impressive brace, while Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Adam Forshaw all also got on the scoresheet.
Bielsa made 10 changes shortly after the hour-mark with only goalkeeper Kiko Casilla remaining on the pitch for the rest of the game. And one of those players brought on was McCarron, who completed his switch to Elland Road at the start of the month.
The 18-year-old certainly provided an indication that he is yet another youngster to keep an eye on during the coming years. The former Carlisle United man looked lively and it would be little surprise if Bielsa wanted to have another look at him before the season starts.

It seems likely that McCarron will play most of his football with the under-23s during the coming campaign. But there appears to be plenty of fans backing the youngster for a chance in a competitive first-team game in the near future.
McCarron took to Twitter after Wednesday’s win to comment on playing for the club for the first time. And in response, the Elland Road faithful lauded the teenager and gave him plenty of encouragement as he continues to settle into his new surroundings.
