According to The Sun, Barnsley want £3 million as transfer fee for Liam Lindsay, and that will be of interest to Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Derby County.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Stoke City are set to make a move for Lindsay after Italian club Brescia decided to pull out of a potential deal to the £3m transfer fee needed.

Earlier this month, The Sun claimed of interest in the 23-year-old central defender from West Bromwich Albion, Derby and Brentford.

Advantage Aston Villa?

If £3m is all it takes to sign Lindsay, then Villa will be in a great position to land the defender, as they will play in the Premier League next season and can easily cough up that amount.

A move to the Villans could also appeal to the former Partick Thistle central defender.

While there will be some concerns whether the youngster will be able to make the step-up from the Championship to the Premier League, for £3m, he will be worth a punt.
