Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers promoted Billy Kirkwood this week.

Rangers have been shuffling their pack behind the scenes this week.
On Thursday, the Ibrox club announced that Billy Kirkwood would become the club’s new Loans Manager, meaning that he will oversee the first-team players who left Rangers on a temporary basis.
Kirkwood had been in a similar position within the club’s academy, and one former Gers man is delighted with the announcement.
Liam Kelly left the Glasgow giants on a permanent basis this past summer to join Livingston, and the 22-year-old has been impressive it must be said.
And here is how the young goalkeeper reacted to Kirkwood’s promotion:
Kelly spent time on loan with East Fife and Livingston, before joining the Premiership side on a full-time basis.
Rangers have seven senior players out on loan at the moment – Greg Docherty, Jak Alnwick, Lee Hodson, Jason Holt, Carlos Pena, Joe Dodoo and Eduardo Herrera.
And it’ll be interesting to see if Kirkwood’s influence brings about a change in fortunes for some of those, as far as their Blues career goes.
