Goalkeeper Liam Kelly has claimed on Instagram that Rangers attacker Josh Windass is the “most wanted man in Britain” as the playmaker continues to be linked with a move down south.

The 24-year-old was in electric form during the 2017-18 season, scoring 18 goals and laying on another eight assists during his 41 league and cup outings for the Gers.

Steven Gerrard shakes hands with Dave King as he is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Scottish Sun claimed last month that newly-promoted Premier League side Cardiff City, and Burnley, were interested in Windass who has changed position from central midfield to a number 10.

Kelly posted on his Instagram story, while on holiday with Windass and Gers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham in Tenerife, that Windass was a “wanted man”.

The Daily Record has claimed that new manager Steven Gerrard has held talks with Windass and right-back James Tavernier over their future – urging the in-form duo to stay at Ibrox.

Kelly himself has announced on Instagram that he will be leaving Ibrox, after plummeting down the pecking order following the signing of Allan McGregor. Now fourth choice, his 14-year stint at Rangers is set to end.
