Will Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers regret selling Liam Kelly?

Very little fuss was made in June when Rangers sold goalkeeper Liam Kelly.
The 22-year-old hadn’t made a single appearance for Rangers and was stuck behind Allan McGregor, Wes Foderingham and Jak Alnwick in the pecking order in Glasgow.
So when Livingston enquired about his services, it made sense for all parties to sell up.
But Kelly returns to Ibrox on Saturday and there is a good chance that he will make Steven Gerrard regret the decision to let him go.
Kelly has been exceptional this season and won rave reviews earlier this month for his formidable performance in the stalemate with Premiership champions Celtic.
Would he get a game under Gerrard this season? No, because McGregor has also been brilliant since returning to Ibrox, but McGregor is also 36 years of age and there will be a time in the near future when the Gers need to look at replacing him in the long term.
Could Kelly have been that man? It’s very possible. If Foderingham inspired confidence among Gerrard and the club’s hierarchy then McGregor never would have been brought back to Rangers in the first place, but Kelly, at 22, clearly has a very promising future and he might just remind Gerrard of that on Saturday.
