The midfielder has made two appearances for the Scottish Premiership side this season.

Liam Henderson has explained to The Scottish Sun what Brendan Rodgers told him in a meeting shortly after Celtic’s game with Motherwell in August, and insisted that Parkhead is the perfect place for his development currently.
The 20-year-old has gone out on loan during the last two seasons – including a spell with Hibernian that lasted almost the entirety of last term – so may have appeared to have been a candidate to be moved on in some capacity as Rodgers attempted to cut down the numbers within the Hoops squad he inherited.

However, the midfielder has remained with the Bhoys beyond the summer window, and he explained how the Northern Irishman has been full of praise for the path that he is currently on.
“I came on against Motherwell and he took me into a meeting the next day and said, ‘You’ve got everything I look for in a player, I just want you to keep your head down, keep working hard and work on things you need to improve on’,” he told The Scottish Sun.
“I don’t think there’s a better place for me to do that than Celtic.”

It would appear to be the correct decision to keep the youngster around this season. His development would have surely been helped by the regular first-team football that he enjoyed at Easter Road last year, but staying put will allow him to work with better players, which should enable him to take his game to the next level.
And after being included as a B list player in their Champions League squad (via Daily Record), it seems that Henderson may also get the chance to come up against some of the very best players that Europe has to offer in the coming months.
