Liam Gallagher has weighed in on England’s World Cup semi-final defeat on Wednesday against Argentina.

It was heartbreak of the highest order for the Three Lions after leading the reigning World champions until the latter stages of the game.

However, just as they did in their last 16 game against Egypt, Lionel Messi and co left it late to produce a stunning comeback.

Did England exceed, meet or not reach expectations?

This was supposed to be a new look England under Thomas Tuchel, yet in the final stages of the game in Atlanta, the Three Lions sat back as deep as possible.

Who Liam Gallagher blames for England’s World Cup defeat vs Argentina

Tuchel admitted he had no regrets following England’s loss, but his negative tactics proved costly in the end.

The days of Gareth Southgate’s questionable decisions were supposed to be behind England, with Gallagher sharing a message to the FA.

“England won’t win a WC until we get street wise and that goes for the managers it’s all got too technical let the kids run wild,” he said.

Despite having not even managed England at a major tournament at the time, Tuchel was handed a contract extension in February through to 2028.

The decision will now be questioned by many up and down the country following Wednesday’s dismal result.

It is not just Wednesday’s loss to Argentina that will come under the microscope, given England failed to convince supporters outside of the second-half against Croatia.

Pep Guardiola is available and is someone who Gallagher knows extremely well following his time as the Manchester City boss.

That would be an appointment that could take England to the level required to win these major trophies.
