After months and months of speculation, Harry Kane will be staying at Tottenham Hotspur, despite Manchester City’s best efforts to get him out of north London.
As you can imagine, fans had plenty to say about this news, and while Spurs supporters were understandably buzzing, some City fans weren’t too happy.
However, as ever, there’s one high-profile City supporter who has gone against the grain – Liam Gallagher.
The former Oasis frontman has taken to Twitter to share his verdict on Kane’s decision.
Gallagher says he’s happy that Kane isn’t signing, and to be fair to the rockstar, he’s been of that opinion for some time now.
Indeed, Gallagher has always been against the idea of City signing Kane, making his thoughts clear on the matter on numerous occasions.
We can’t quite understand Gallagher’s view on this matter. After all, Kane is one of the best strikers in the world at the moment, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Gallagher has previously stated that he’d rather see Erling Haaland signed than Kane, and perhaps next summer when the Norwegian’s release clause comes into effect he’ll get his wish.
Whether or not City now go out and sign a striker remains to be seen, but after having a couple of big bids for Kane knocked back, there’s reason to believe they have cash burning a hole in their pocket.
Let’s just hope that whoever City do sign is to Gallagher’s taste.
