The Leeds United centre-back shone in their latest Championship match.
Leeds United could not get back-to-back victories either side of the international break, but they did maintain their undefeated start to the new Championship season as they drew 1-1 with Brentford on Saturday.
Brentford’s recent signing Marco Djuricin scored on his debut before Mirco Antenucci rescued Leeds with a 76th-minute equaliser.
The Italian striker came on at half-time for Alex Mowatt but despite his goal-scoring contribution Leeds manager Uwe Rosler also had centre-back Liam Cooper to thank as the defender played a vital role in keeping the visitors at bay.

Sol Bamba is often hailed as the Leeds hero but this time the Ivorian looked out of sorts. Thankfully Cooper was on hand to do his bit and he ended the match with some fine individual statistics.
By full-time Cooper had recovered the ball on nine occasions and had only been dispossessed once all afternoon. The Leeds defender also won one tackle, three duels and three interceptions while having a passing accuracy of 75 per cent.
Of course the stats only tell part of the story and Cooper shone throughout, his fine performance ensuring Bamba’s poor one did not result in their first defeat of the season.
