Leeds United fans enhanced their reputation on Saturday.

Leeds fans celebrate their team's victory during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Derby County at Elland Road on November 29, 2014 in Leeds, England.

Speaking to LUTV, Liam Cooper has thanked Leeds United fans for their support during the 1-0 win over Hull City on Saturday.

Some 35,000 Leeds supporters crammed into Elland Road to watch the Whites ride their luck in a narrow win over Nigel Adkins’s side, achieved by Pablo Hernandez’s first-half winner.

Considering it was two days before Christmas, those are brilliant figures from fans who by in large stayed to the end as Leeds moved into the top six in the Championship.

Leeds United fans celebrate after the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road on February 25, 2017 in Leeds, England.

And the former Hull City defender has acknowledged their support.

He told LUTV: “I had a glance in the second half and seen everyone with the scarves. I thought it was absolutely brilliant, biggest attendance of the year, and fair play to the fans because it’s very cold out there.

“They pay a lot of money to come and watch us and we can only thank them for that.”

Fans look on during The Emirates FA Cup Third Round match between Leeds United and Rotherham United at Elland Road on January 9, 2016 in Leeds, England.

Thomas Christiansen’s side have now only lost one of their last seven Championship games – away to league leaders Wolves – and the West Yorkshire side seem to be in a decent run of form at long last.

It wasn’t that long ago that the Whites had lost six in seven Championship outings but Christiansen, to his credit, has turned it around spectacularly and he’ll be hoping for a solid second half of the campaign.
