Leeds United have sent Lewie Coyle out on loan to Fleetwood Town.
Leeds United today confirmed on their official website that right back Lewie Coyle has been sent out on loan to League One side Fleetwood Town – and Liam Cooper has wished him luck.
Coyle, 21, has come up through the ranks at Leeds having joined the club way back in 2004, and he made his first start for the club in January 2016.

The right back has made just 23 first-team appearances for Leeds though as Luke Ayling was Garry Monk’s clear first choice at right back – and Thomas Christiansen has seemingly felt that he needs to be playing first-team football.
Today, Coyle was sent out on a season-long loan deal to League One side Fleetwood Town, but not before penning a new three-year deal at Elland Road, meaning his long-term future remains at Elland Road.
With Fleetwood needing a right wing back following Conor McLaughlin’s departure, manager Uwe Rosler – who worked with Coyle at Leeds – needed a replacement who could play week in and week out.
Coyle has now filled that gap for Fleetwood, and McLaughlin’s exit means that Coyle should play plenty of first-team football for the Cod Army next season before returning to Leeds.
Leeds’ Liam Cooper
As Coyle leaves Elland Road for his temporary stint in Lancashire, Leeds defender Liam Cooper has taken to Twitter to offer a message to the outgoing youngsters.
Cooper has wished Coyle luck in his spell at Fleetwood, suggesting that they have ‘got themselves some player’ by landing the youngster on loan for the season.
