Leeds United central defender Pontus Jansson has issued an apology on Twitter following the defeat to Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side went down 2-1 to Stoke away from home at the bet365 Stadium in the Championship.

Jansson was sent off for Leeds in the 76th minute for two bookable offences, and the Swedish defender has apologised on Twitter.

Leeds central defender Liam Cooper has responded to the 27-year-old’s message, and has said that he should not apologise.

Cooper has also said that Jansson – who joined Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Torino in the summer of 2016 and made the move permanent in the summer of 2017 for a fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £3.5 million – has been believable for the Whites all season.
