Liam Cooper has praised Leeds United fans in an interview with the club’s website.

Speaking to Leeds United’s official website, Liam Cooper has praised the club’s fans.
The 26-year-old defender has been club captain for most of what’s been an up and down season for the Whites.
But one constant in Leeds’ campaign was been relentless support from the terraces and Cooper, who joined United in 2014, says that it’s an honour to play in front of those fans.
He told Leeds’ official website: “There is no better feeling than leading my team out at Elland Road.
“It’s an honour to play for a club like this, let alone wear the arm band, but the feeling you get when you come out the tunnel and hear a full Elland Road is another level.

“The fans are honest – they tell you when they like something and we know about it when they are not happy too! The relationship with our supporters is special and I’m proud to be their captain.”
The admiration between Cooper and the fans isn’t all that mutual, it has to be said.
Plenty of Leeds supporters respect the former Chesterfield ace, but at the same time, many would want to see Pontus Jansson given a better centre-back partner next season.
Both were brilliant in the Whites’ defence toward the start of the campaign, going 636 minutes without conceding a Championship goal, but they have both been inconsistent since then and as good as Cooper can be, signing an upgrade wouldn’t go amiss.
