Liam Cooper has acknowledged Stuart Dallas’s heroics for Leeds United on Sunday.

Leeds beat Wigan 2-1 at The DW Stadium to move top of the Championship, ahead of Norwich City on goal difference.

Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe scored for the Whites, but there were a number of unsung heroes for Marcelo Bielsa’s side – and Dallas was certainly one of them.

The winger was asked to play as a makeshift right-back following injuries to Gaetano Berardi and Luke Ayling, but the Northern Ireland international performed as if that was his natural position.

Dallas, a £1.3 million signing in 2015 [Sky Sports] touched the ball more than any other player on the pitch [89] and won four tackles – also more than any other player.

Leeds centre-back Cooper stumbled across his teammate’s post-match stats and here’s how he reacted to it on Twitter:

Dallas is one of the most versatile players in United’s squad and if he can maintain that standard in the absence of Ayling and Berardi then Leeds will be alright – providing he stays fit.

It wouldn’t be a major shock if he too were to get injured, because it’s been that sort of season for the West Yorkshire side so far, but for now it looks like right-back is of far less concern than it was before the former Brentford man’s performance.
