Leeds United defender Liam Cooper scored the winner as the Whites beat Brentford yesterday.

Cooper was Leeds’ hero yesterday, as he scored the winner in their 1-0 victory over Brentford.
The towering centre-back headed home a free-kick to provide Leeds with the three points.
Cooper admits that he has heard the criticism that Leeds fans have directed towards him this season, but he feels that the supporters know he always gives his best for the team.

“I come in for a bit of stick off the fans, but it is what it is,” he said. “I always give my best for the club and I think they understand that.”
Cooper has been a popular pick for both Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom this season, with both managers generally selecting him to play alongside Pontus Jansson.

Cooper was under pressure to impress against Brentford, as he had been partly at fault for the equaliser that Leeds conceded against Derby in midweek, and he stepped up to the plate.
Not only did Cooper score the winner, but he has stuck to his defensive task well.
Leeds’ win over Brentford has lifted them to within five points of the Championship play off spots.
