Leeds United defender Liam Cooper has defended his teammate Luke Ayling on social networking site Twitter.
Ayling gave away a penalty during the Championship game between Leeds and Middlesbrough at the weekend.
That did not affect the final result, though, as the Whites got the better of Boro 2-1 at Elland Road in the Championship game.
Cooper, who can operate as a central defender or a left-back and is one of the best players in the current Leeds team, has defended his teammate Ayling, who can play as a defender or as a defensive midfielder.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon, hosts Leeds had 43% of the possession, took 12 shots of which two were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.
The win against Garry Monk’s side means that Thomas Christiansen’s side are seventh in the Championship table at the moment with 26 points from 17 matches, level on points with sixth-placed Middlesbrough.
