Leeds United defensive midfielder Liam Bridcutt has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that he has good memories of playing for Brighton and Hove Albion.

Bridcutt was on the books of Brighton from 2010 until 2014 when he joined Premier League outfit Sunderland.

During his time at the Seagulls, the Scotland international established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Championship.

The 27-year-old will face his former club this weekend when Leeds take on Brighton at Elland Road.

Ahead of the Championship game at Elland Road on Saturday evening, Bridcutt has spoken fondly of his time at the American Express Community Stadium.

“I have very good memories of Brighton,” Bridcutt told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “The club probably kick-started my career and I started making a name for myself. It’s a club that I loved playing for and I place I enjoy going back to.”

Bridcutt joined Leeds on loan from Sunderland in November 2015 and signed a permanent contract with the West Yorkshire outfit in the summer of 2016.

The former Chelsea prospect has established himself as a key player for the Whites, who are likely to end up in the playoffs this season.

Leeds are fourth in the Championship table at the moment, while Brighton currently find themselves second in the standings.
