Liam Bridcutt has admitted to LUTV that he is “fed up” with the injury which has curtailed much of his season for Leeds United so far.

The 27-year-old joined Leeds on a permanent deal from Sunderland in the summer, after spending the second half of last season on loan at Elland Road.

But the defensive midfielder has managed only four Championship appearances for the Whites after suffering a foot injury, keeping him sidelined since September 13.

But the Scotland international is nearing a comeback, and he revealed to LUTV that having never had to spend so long on the sidelines, it has been a frustrating couple of months.

“It’s been frustrating. I’ve never really had an injury which has kept me out for long, but it’s part and parcel in football,” he said.

“I’m fed up and itching to go and looking forward to being back with the lads, getting back to normal.”

Bridcutt had looked like an excellent addition but, fortunately for Leeds, his absence has not been detrimental to United’s season.

In fact, he faces a fight to get back into the side as Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O’Kane seem to have struck up an excellent partnership in midfield.

Garry Monk’s side have had nine Championship games without Bridcutt and have won six of them, losing two. Their form has seen the Whites move sixth in the table after edging out Norwich City before the international break in their biggest win of the season as far as importance goes.
