Lewis Walters will remain at Championship outfit Leeds United for the 2015-16 season.

Leeds United forward Lewis Walters has told the club’s official website that he is determined to break into the first team next season.

The youngster recently agreed to sign a new one-year contract with the West Yorkshire outfit and will remain at Elland Road for the 2015-16 season.

The 20-year-old has not made his first-team debut for the Whites yet, but the forward is rated highly and is expected to make a breakthrough next season.

Walters is keen on impressing new head coach Uwe Rosler during the summer and earning a place in the Leeds first team for the 2015-16 campaign.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting him so I can try and impress him and try and get in the squad,” the youngster told Leeds’s official website.

“First impressions are everything so if I can do really well in pre-season, I can try and get my place in the team.

“For the start of the season, I want to get in the squad and around the team and hopefully get a couple of appearances. Then when I get a bit more confident, I want to start banging in some goals.”

Walters seems determined and knows what he has to do in pre-season in order to become a regular fixture in the Leeds squad.

It will not be easy, though, but in the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign, the English youngster showed his potential.

The 20-year-old is a versatile player who can play as a central striker or out wide, and was part of Leeds’ travelling squad on a number of occasions in the recently concluded 2014-15 campaign.

Walters also featured 10 times for Leeds’ Under-21s, scoring three goals in the process.
