West Ham United’s 0-0 draw at Shrewsbury Town on Sunday was toothless for two reasons.

First, the Premier League side really should have beaten their League One counterparts at New Meadow, but David Moyes’s troops had to settle for a third-round replay instead.

And secondly, one West Ham man, Josh Cullen, finished the contest with two teeth missing.

The Republic of Ireland youngster took a nasty blow to the mouth toward the end of yesterday’s stalemate in an incident which cost him two of his choppers.

And former Irons left-back Lewis Page, who spent three years in East London before leaving 12 months ago, has told his former youth colleague to get to a dentist as soon as possible.

David Moyes, Manager of Sunderland gives his team instructions during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Sunderland at Emirates Stadium on May 16, 2017 in London, England.

Cullen was arguably West Ham’s best player on a day which saw a few of Moyes’s heavy hitters fail to turn up.

The likes of Javier Hernandez, Andre Ayew, Arthur Masauku and Cheikhou Kouyate offered very little contribution in a positive way and, really, Moyes won’t be over the moon about having a replay on the horizon.

Staying in the Premier League is of far greater importance to the Hammers than an FA Cup run, and hosting Shrewsbury is an unwanted complication at the moment.
