Leeds United do not want to pay £8 million for Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien, according to Phil Hay of The Athletic.
What’s the story?
The well-known and well-respected journalist has written in The Athletic this afternoon that Leeds like O’Brien and want to bring the 22-year-old midfielder to Elland Road.
Championship club Huddersfield want £8 million for the youngster, but Leeds are not prepared to pay that much, according to Hay.
The Daily Mail (print edition, page 138, August 8, 2021) reported that Leeds had an offer of £3 million for the Englishman turned down, but the West Yorkshire club are going to make a second offer.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Could a Leeds United transfer happen?
It seems that Huddersfield are not prepared to sell O’Brien for anything less than £8 million.
At the moment.
Remember, anything is possible when the transfer window is open.

Leeds just need to continue to negotiate, be patient and see what happens in the coming weeks.
Huddersfield are playing in the Championship this season, while Leeds will play in the Premier League.
That could be very tempting to O’Brien, and so could the chance to work under head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
O’Brien scored three goals and gave three assists in 39 Championship starts for Huddersfield last season.
