Lewis Hamilton will be delighted as the Denver Broncos prepare for the NFC Conference championship game after a dramatic win over the Buffalo Bills.
The Denver Broncos stormed into a 20-10 lead after the second quarter, only for a late Bills comeback to send the game into overtime.
A field goal from Wil Lutz, almost five minutes into overtime, earned the Broncos their place in the AFC Championship game against either the Houston Texans or the New England Patriots.
The Broncos won the AFC West conference, ending the regular season with a 14-3 record and going on an 11-game winning run at one point before a defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
One of the many thousands of people who were excitedly watching on at the Empower Field in Denver was Ferrari Formula 1 driver, Lewis Hamilton.
He reacted to the result on social media, and his involvement with the Broncos gives him even more reason to cheer them on.

Lewis Hamilton reacts to ‘incredibly massive’ Denver Broncos win over the Buffalo Bills
Posting on Instagram after the game, Hamilton said: “So incredibly massive and well deserved! @broncos, never a doubt!!”
Hamilton may struggle to watch the Broncos’ next match against either the Texans or the Patriots on January 25.
The first pre-season test of the season starts in Barcelona on the following day, and Ferrari will be keen for their star driver to be rested and ready for an intense start to the year.
A new set of regulations have been introduced to Formula 1 this year, meaning all 11 teams, including new American manufacturer, Cadillac, have spent months building entirely new cars.
Hamilton has not won a world championship since 2020, but would love to become the all-time most successful driver in the sport’s history by securing an eighth title this year.
What is Lewis Hamilton’s role in the Denver Broncos?
Hamilton is a very wealthy man, and the Broncos are one of his many investments around the world.
In 2022, Hamilton became part of a consortium that decided to buy the Denver Broncos.
The 41-year-old has had a residence in Colorado for a long time, and as part of the Walton-Penner family, completed a £3.5bn takeover of the team, as per TalkSPORT.
Hamilton is frequently seen enjoying many winter sports in the state during the Formula 1 off-season, and now has an additional pastime when the campaign ends to appreciate as long as the Broncos make the playoffs.
The 2024 season was the first time the Broncos had appeared in the postseason, losing a wildcard match to the Bills, making this their most successful campaign since the Walton-Penner takeover.
Alongside Hamilton, the other members of the ownership group are CEO Greg Penner, Carrie Walton Penner, Rob Walton, Mellody Hobson and Condoleezza Rice.
Hobson is a board member for a variety of multi-national companies, including Starbucks, while Rice was the Secretary of State during George W Bush’s second presidential term.
Hamilton has made it clear throughout his racing career that he wants to explore his other passions once he hangs up his helmet.
He’ll be hoping that once the first official pre-season test concludes in Bahrain on February 13, he can jet straight off to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, to see his Broncos try and win their first Super Bowl since 2016.
