Everton defender Lewis Gibson has starred over pre-season, but Marco Silva has suggested he won’t get regular game time.

Gibson has shone over pre-season for Everton, and there were some suggestions that the youngster could be promoted to the senior side.
But Silva has claimed that Gibson is not yet ready to play for Everton’s first-team.
“What is the priority is the central defender, when cannot go through a tough season with Mason [Holgate], Michael [Keane] and [Yerry] Mina – even if the boy [Lewis] Gibson is working with us, he’s not ready yet for this level,” he said.
If Silva does not feel that Gibson is ready for Everton, then it seems that the best course of action for him should be to pursue a move elsewhere.
The 19-year-old looks to be an extremely bright prospect, and he may well break into Everton’s first team in future years.

To give himself the best chance of doing that Gibson surely needs to head out and get regular action though.
Gibson would have no shortage of takers, if Everton were to make him available.
And after Silva’s latest remarks, it seems best for both club and player, for Gibson to be allowed to leave Goodison Park temporarily this season.
