Allan McGregor of Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers was banned for two games this month.
Speaking to The Scottish Sun, Lewis Ferguson has played down the rash challenge by Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor – but did admit that he was ‘angry’ at the time.
McGregor was hit with a retrospective two-game ban for a studs-up tackle on the 19-year-old during Rangers’ 4-2 win at Pittodrie earlier this month.
Ferguson was somewhat lucky to avoid a serious injury, but the Dons midfielder, who comes up against Steven Gerrard’s side again in a Scottish Cup quarter-final on Sunday week, insists that there’s no ‘bad blood’ between him and the 37-year-old.
He told The Scottish Sun: “There’s no bad blood and I’m sure it’s the same with Allan. After it happened I never really thought about it again. People are going to make mistakes.
“After the tackle I was obviously a bit angry at him, but that’s football.”
It isn’t the first time that McGregor has found himself in hot water this season, after the veteran Rangers stopper was fortunate not to be sent off for kicking out at Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer in an Old Firm defeat back in September.
He has served out his suspension and the light Blues ace will be available for selection when Steven Gerrard’s side host Hamilton on Sunday afternoon.
