Signing Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilion is exciting and all, but Tottenham Hotspur still absolutely need a striker this summer.

With Troy Parrott being loaned to the Championship, and Harry Kane having a dodgy injury history, Jose Mourinho would be wise to sign another number nine before the transfer window shuts.

It’s been such an exciting few days for Tottenham fans ahead of Bale’s momentous return to North London.

But a striker must still be on the agenda – and thankfully for Spurs fan, it is.

According to The Telegraph, the Lilywhites have made an approach to sign Southampton hitman Danny Ings.

The English forward has had a brilliant few years on the South Coast, scoring 22 Premier League goals last season.

And here’s how Tottenham fans reacted to the idea of Daniel Levy and Mourinho bringing him in:

The good news here is that Ings would be one hell of a back-up striker for Kane. The bad news is that the 28-year-old probably doesn’t fancy playing second fiddle.

He’d earn more money at Tottenham, and he’d get to share a changing room with the likes of Bale, but Ings, who played all 38 Premier League games last term, wouldn’t feature anywhere near as often.

And with his injury history, first-team football is always going to take precedence over money.
