Tottenham Hotspur fans have provided a mixed reaction to the rumours that Nuno Espirito Santo is on a low wage at the club.
The Athletic have claimed that given Nuno’s modest wage at Spurs then sacking the coach wouldn’t be an issue from a financial perspective.
Daniel Levy has done wonders there, just in case Spurs find themselves in a spot of bother down the line.
But Spurs fans want everyone associated with the club to get behind their manager and urged for him to be given time.
Given that the North London club have started the campaign in a mixed fashion, it has seen the opinions on the man in the dugout vary.
It doesn’t help Nuno’s cause that he probably wasn’t even in the first five choices to replace Jose Mourinho.
But, on one hand, he hasn’t done as bad as it is made out, nor has he done as well as the first three games suggested.
Tottenham are sitting in the top eight after seven matches, and if that’s after a pretty Topsy-Turvy start, then imagine where they can end up if they get their engine going?
Not forgetting that Harry Kane is yet to score a Premier League goal this season, so when he gets going, it will only push Spurs up the table.
The win against Aston Villa, prior to the international break, certainly helped proceedings, now it’s a case of taking on a Newcastle side that have the richest owners in world football at their disposal.
